Potter County Human Services is proud to help sponsor the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, as well as offer additional information on other events and conferences in our area. Check back frequently for new postings and events, or contact our offices for additional information.
As a recreational and leisure activity for children (8 years and up) and adults with intellectual disabilities, Potter County Human Services supports and offers access to Special Olympics Pennsylvania of Potter County (SOPAPC). the mission of SOPAPC is to provide year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports, both individually and/or as part of a team. SOPAPC provides continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Competitions are local as well as regional and statewide. Potter County is currently offering training and competition and in 8 different sports including bowling, softball, basketball, soccer, track and field, cross country skiing, golf and equestrian. FAMILY FUN FAIR
Provide FUN, EDUCATION and AWARENESS of SERVICES for Children (focus age group 0-10) and their Families in the County.
The Potter County Integrated Children's Services Committee is inviting exhibitors to make available an activity or booth to entertain, educate or provide a service to children on site for our Annual Family Fun Fair. Past years events have had tremendous success with over 400 family members in attendance.
Advertising, refreshments, games and a special drawing will be provided by the committee and through community donations. All activities are free to families including refreshments.
