The Food Grant programs are funded through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program and through the USDA food programs. The five area food banks receive food from these programs as administered by this agency. The food programs are designed to assist eligible clients to receive food either monthly because of chronic need, or on an emergency basis.
The caseworker is responsible for:
Take an initial application from the client
Maintain accurate records of inventory
Order food for all the food banks
Make arrangements for deliveries
Attend each food bank at the time of re-application
Assemble emergency food bags for use at this site
Limited funds are also available to provide one-time food vouchers for qualifying persons. Here is a list of your community food banks.
