Student Assistance Program

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is an evaluation, referral and educational program which takes place within the secondary school systems within the county. It offers services both within an individual and a group format.

An individual may refer themselves to the SAP Program, although the normal route is through the SAP Team, which is made up of Faculty, Administration, and the SAP Coordinator.

When referred, the individual would be evaluated by the SAP Coordinator as to the degree of need, and what services would best meet those needs. If the determination is made that the individual requires prevention education, which may be best met in a group format, the individual would be referred to the available group. If the SAP Coordinator determines that the individual would best be served on an individual basis in an outpatient format, they will arrange the referral so that the individual may be seen through the Department of Behavioral Health Services.
